The Beit Lahia Development Association was established on 1/9/1994 as a charitable, non-profit, and non-governmental association with the beginning of the establishment of the Palestinian National Authority, with a license from the Ministry of Interior No. 3071, and from the Ministry of Social Affairs No. 1212, where the association was born from the womb of the local community as a need and societal necessity for the existence of an effective institution that meets its needs and requirements, responds to its interests and rights, and expresses its aspirations and hopes honestly and honestly. The people with high competencies, experience, and scientific and practical qualifications that are unanimous and trusted by all members of the local community, to serve the northern Gaza Strip in general and Beit Lahia in particular without any discrimination of any kind, and to participate in building the nation and the human being, as the association has relied since the beginning of its work and with its high responsibility on the participation of the local community and beneficiaries in all stages and practical steps, the association has completed hundreds of projects in various sectors that have won the trust of the community local and partner institutions due to their full independence in their work that has been characterized by transparency and integrity.
The association was distinguished at the time due to the nature of its composition with full awareness of place, time and man, so it determined that its main goal is to build and develop Beit Lahia and northern Gaza in all sectors, especially at the level of infrastructure, educational and health institutions, and human beings to reach a strong and cohesive, independent, self-reliant civil society, so since its establishment, the association has been defining a scientific method to assess the needs of the local community and determine its priorities, and work to find sound, realistic and logical mechanisms to make the most of the resources Natural sources of funding available and our accumulation of expertise. Over the past years, the Beit Lahia Development Association has contributed to bringing about societal change in northern Gaza in general, and Beit Lahia in particular, through many programs and projects, and the association has been distinguished by providing development services in times of political and economic stability and providing relief services in times of emergencies and wars, as the association contributes to improving the socio-economic situation in Beit Lahia and northern Gaza, paying attention to the situation of women and children, empowering youth, and providing psychological, social and educational support for children. As well as strengthening the spirit of collective and voluntary work among the residents of the northern Gaza Strip in general. The Beit Lahia Development Association always seeks to advance, and raise the level of the Association’s performance through the continuous development of the capabilities of its employees, and to enhance the level of partnership with local and international institutions, and the Association always seeks to involve the local community in all its categories in all the plans and activities of the Association, which helps to identify the real needs of the target groups.
