GAZA – The Beit Lahia Development Association (BLDA) recently hosted a high-level delegation from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to discuss the expansion of emergency response operations. The mission was led by OCHA Deputy Coordinator, Ms. Suzanna, and the Head of Office for Gaza, Mr. Tahir.
The visit focused on three strategic pillars:
Assessing ongoing assistance for displaced families.
Overcoming logistical obstacles to humanitarian access.
Strengthening local-international partnerships to expedite the delivery of relief.
During the meeting, OCHA representatives praised BLDA’s “pivotal role” and its effectiveness in navigating the complex humanitarian landscape in Gaza. BLDA’s leadership marking 31 years of service reiterated that coordinated efforts with the UN remain the “fundamental pillar” in addressing the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Strip.
