The Beit Lahia Development Association, in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and with funding from the European Union (ECHO), has completed a project to supply and spread 10,000 square meters of sand across four displacement sites in Deir al-Balah.
This project is part of the Site Management Support (SMS) program. It specifically aims to mitigate the risks of flooding and rainwater accumulation, thereby facilitating the movement of displaced persons, protecting their tents from damage during winter storms, and improving overall living conditions within the targeted sites.
